Clothing for the Body & Soul

This and That

I got an early Christmas present today. My episode of Patchwork Nation is finished.

A couple of months ago I got a call from Crafty inviting me to do a video talking about and sharing my work. Without giving it a second thought I said yes. As I was in the throws of getting ready for PIQF,  it seemed rather far far away. It wasn’t.  A couple weeks after PIQF  I found myself sitting in my living room sharing stories of my life, family and my work. Brendan Wilkerson along with a crew of some of the most professional, pleasant and patience young men was in my living room, studio and backyard filming and photographing me and my work. They were in my home, in and around town for 2 days.  There was also a makeup artist. Those that know me know that I don’t really wear make up. So here is my glamour photo.

Me-all made up

On the second day, they did some filming down at the United Presbyterian Church, my home church, where I gather with some friends and quilt on Tuesdays. I invited some of my friends that belong to one of my other sewing groups, The Crazy Quilters, to join us. Later that day we went to Crossroads Fabrics. That was really fun because we had nothing planned, but while I was there several people that I knew showed up. It turned into a bit of a party. I loved being able to share some of the local colors with the crew. Lunch from Mi Pueblo Food Center one day, Mike’s Hot dog stand the next day and dinner at the California Grill and Cilantros.

I was exhausted at the end of the two days,  but Brendan and the crew created such a positive and secure environment that was really fun to do. I have been on pins and needles to see what the end product was going to be.

The video will be launch soon on Craftsy, but today I got a sneaked preview. I can’t wait for you to see it.
