Dragon Tales

When I acquired an Indonesian panel that featured a dragon I thought it would be fun to play with it. Just because! The line from the PBS Kids show, Dragon Tales came to me: “I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons in a land apart." And I knew I was going to go full dragon with the garment. Instead of turning it into a coat I decide I would make a vest so I used some small blocks on the front, and I created a piecing design from a traditional Indonesian pattern. I machine quilted the panel, added a few buttons as accents and chose the colors of the buttons for closure to match the piecing.
