“Mudd Cloth II”

As part of my ongoing love affair with African fabric, I wanted to work with textures that are different from the batiks that I had been working with, so I started collecting mud cloth for a western style garment. It amuses and satisfies me that I’m actually running with the current ethnic trend. This was my second mud cloth piece. It’s difficult to work mud cloth but I have managed to create a total of 5 garments from the fabric. Mud cloth is slightly heavier than a modern woven fabric and provides excellent warmth.
