View from the Pew
Rachel's Story
View from the Pew- I made this coat when I was sitting in church listening to a sermon that had ceased to engage me. I settled for admiring the stain glass window for the rest of the sermon and thus the idea for this coat was born. I took additional inspiration from a Frank Lloyd Wright window. The fabrics are a combination of cotton fabrics and color shades chosen for the way they worked with light. Their luminescence makes it appear that light is actually coming through the garment and a grey slate color for the lead design elements.
