I have done several exhibits together with two long-time friends. We like to set fabric themes for the 5 to 8 pieces we produce for the exhibits. The theme a couple of years ago was Asian fabrics. For my garment, I chose to work with Japanese Ikat fabric using yukata and other vintage kimono fabrics. I combined hand and machine stitching and appliqué circles. Eventually, this will be an ensemble—skirt to be made at a future date!
